The Seven Deadly Sins
was Rusty’s first creation of this topic and explored the human condition and the mythic journey across the River Styx and through the nine levels of Hell, as conceived by Dante’s Inferno.
In this innovative choreographic endeavor, the dancers embody the essence of each sin—pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth—using physicality to illustrate the weights these transgressions impose upon the soul. Through varied movement vocabularies, the performers navigate a metaphorical descent into darkness, mirroring the dramatic passage of souls in ancient myth.
