Directing and choreographing Smokey Joe’s Café was an opportunity to reimagine this iconic revue with a cast of 17 - 6 dancers and 11 vocalists.  The reimagined version becomes more than a song cycle and jukebox musical; It was transformed into a celebration of the people who grew up together and navigated life’s ups and downs becoming a tapestry of relationships, where every duet, ensemble number, and dance sequence tell a story of connection, love, friendship, and resilience

The production honors the timeless spirit of Leiber and Stoller’s songs while breathing new life into them through a reimagined lens—one that places community, relationships, and the sheer joy of movement and music at its core.
